About Me…

About Me… *

I’ve been in love—with people, with stories, with places that don’t exist anymore. Maybe never did. But I remember how they made me feel.

I’m Stephanie Shephard, but most folks just call me Steffie. I’m a writer, screenwriter, storyteller, dreamer. A Black Southern woman born in Tennessee, raised in Georgia, and now wandering the world with a pen in one hand and a passport in the other, chasing the life I always dreamed was out there waiting for me.

I don’t write because it’s cute or because it’s clever—I write because I have to. Because some stories sit heavy on your chest until you let them out. Because love, loss, heartbreak, family, trauma, memory… they all deserve to be spoken aloud in the language only fiction can give. They deserve to breathe.

My words live in the in-between. Between past and present. Between pain and pleasure. Between the girl I was and the woman I’m still becoming.

I’ve written novels, screenplays, stories that sit with you long after the last page. I ghostwrite for others who need help bringing their voice to life. I offer consultations to writers finding their way. And I live—fully, joyfully, messily—in every country I step foot in, bringing it all back into the work.

This isn’t just a career. It’s communion.

This isn’t just a service. It’s soul work.

So whether you’re here to read, collaborate, hire me, or just witness—I’m glad you are. Let’s tell the truth together, even if it’s wrapped in fiction.
